ARMES SITE CORNARD ROAD LATEST

Detailed proposals have been submitted for this former factory site which received outline permission 3 years ago.

It will comprise 121 flats and houses and the rear of the site will be preserved as a wildlife reserve.

We were very disappointed particularly at the elevations to the street and concerned about people crossing what is now a busy road.

We have just (May 2010) seen revised plans and see no reason to vary our opinion. The designs are still bland and just not good enough for Sudbury. There has been no improvement in the pedestrian and car traffic proposals or rather lack of them. The site is close to the town centre and tha station and a safe crossing would encourage residents to walk or cycle rather than putting more pressure on limited car parking facilities.
