BELLE VUE HOUSE LATEST - May 2009All is not lost. A recent article in the local press reported that Apollo, the owners of Hardwicke House surgery, were seeking an option to buy the whole site - House and Old Swimming Pool site. It appears that Apollo were positioning themselves to be the GP practice leading the health facility although the PCT have yet to declare their choice of site. Tenders have to be submitted in the spring hence the suggestion that there might not be sufficient time for proper consultation. Babergh's Strategy Committee on 12 February rejected this bid. Apollo profess to be still interested but the long awaited decision on the "Hospital" site should resove this once and for all. There is now a real possibilty that the House could become a local community resource and ideas are being formulated by the Town Council and the Market Town Partnership. The availability of funds to adapt the building and maintain it will be crucial. West Suffolk College have moved out into the former video shop in Cornard Road but CAB remain although their premises aren't very accessible. WATCH THIS SPACE |
